- A sclerosant foam is injected into visible veins with a fine needle
- The injection causes vein walls to close and eventually fade

What to expect after?
Compression stockings worn continuously for the first day, then during the day for 3-4 days
Mild stinging during injection, mild bruising afterward
Avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for about a week
Multiple sessions (usually 2) spaced four weeks apart may be needed
